Our Services
God's Love We
Deliver provides essential food and nutrition services to men, women
and children living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's
disease and other serious illnesses. Our clients live throughout
the five boroughs of New York City, Hudson County and Newark, New
Jersey. All of our services to clients are provided free of charge.
These services include:
The Home-Delivered
Meal Program
Our
Chefs oversee a professional, industrial-size kitchen in SoHo, producing
more than 2,000 delicious, nourishing meals for our clients. Each
weekday, we deliver 2 meals that fulfill the daily nutritional needs
people with serious illness. For the group of approximately 25%
of our clients who need special meals to accommodate individual
dietary restrictions, our Modified Meals Chef adapts each menu item
to meet individual requirements.
Nutrition Education
& Counseling
Proper
nutrition is essential to the successful management of many serious
illnesses. God's Love We Deliver's Nutrition Specialists provide
nutrition education and counseling to meal program clients and others
affected by their diseases. Our team of nutritionists does this
through individual telephone counseling sessions, family counseling
sessions, and group workshops to affected populations. We complement
our meal program with comprehensive nutrition counseling In addition,
our nutrition education program disseminates important information
to the broader community of people affected by HIV/AIDS, cancer,
multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease and other serious illnesses.
Client Advocacy
We
help clients and other access a broad range of support services
available throughout our service area. The staff helps clients to
use God's Love We Deliver services effectively, refers them to other
local social service agencies that are best equipped to meet their
other needs, and advocates on their behalf when necessary. They
balance sensibility, knowledge and compassion as they offer support,
make referrals for counseling services, assist in alleviating housing
crises and help people secure medical benefits and other services.
